Spartanburg, S.C. – Spartanburg police investigated an armed robbery that happened inside Second Presbyterian Church Monday night (11/11/13).

Police said a man with a gun walked into the church and demanded money from a group of people who were inside taking an anger management class.

Police reported the suspects got away with about $500.

Police report two men entered the church and tried to walk past the front desk when the volunteer stopped them. They told her they were there for anger management classes.

When she said she did not recognize them, one of the men told her, “You know why we are here, let’s not do this.” He pulled out a gun and pointed it at her, according to police.

That man then grabbed cash, and the two men ran out of the building, fleeing the scene in a car, police said.
