Once again we see that violence can occur at any of our churches. The latest example happened yesterday when a gunman walked into a southern Missouri church service and fired two shots into the floor. This happened at the First Baptist Church in Norwood.
Another round hit the ceiling Sunday morning when church members tackled the man to the floor. This prevented any additional shots being fired.
KOLR-TV reports that one of the men who tackled the gunman suffered a minor shoulder injury during the struggle. No one else was hurt.
It appears that the gunman may have been upset with the church but authorities declined to elaborate.
The gunman’s name wasn’t immediately released. He is in custody and charges are pending.
Again, please maintain your vigilance and thank God for those who stepped up and tackled the armed intruder to the floor and disarmed him. They may have prevented a much more serious event from happening.
