I am happy to report some good news!
A South Carolina man owes his life to some quick thinking basketball players who watched him go down and acted fast. Tony Gilliard, 52, was playing a pick up game with some men at his church. After rebounding the ball and heading down court, he stopped at half court, bent over and suffered a massive heart attack.
His friends quickly rushed in to help. One man began compressions, and another ran to retrieve the AED.
How prepared is your church for a medical emergency? Quick action, the right equipment, and willing witnesses made the difference in this man’s life for sure.
In the video below, church security cameras captured the incident and show the men using the AED. I apologize for the advertisement, it is beyond my control.
